Wrought

Probably the gnarliest of all the designs, inspired by the contortions you see in large rocks along the coast, where enormous pressures long ago have caused the very fabric of the rock to twist, or the crooked trunks of wiry trees upon mountainsides, sculpted into erratic shapes by the wind. For me, these rings represent the ability to change, to grow.

These rings are probably also the most varied of all the designs. I deliberately hammer deep ruts and crevasses into the metal, and then form the ring from this pummelled metal. These dents twist as they’re stretched into a round shape, and I always feel that the final form of the ring is decided by the metal itself. I let it bend as it wants to, and as a result, every ring has a completely unique shape, with very distinctive contours running along its surface.

The edges of the contours can either be left crisp and defined, shown here in the silver rings, or softened and smoothed, as shown in the gold rings. It's a subtle difference, and the choice of which to go for is entirely down to your preference!

Ethical gemstones

These rings are a 2.5mm band, and a 3mm band, shown in both recycled silver and 18 carat Single Mine Origin gold. The 3mm SMO gold ring is also set with a ruby, black diamond and white diamond (white diamond not shown). I have set these stones within the undulations of the ring, like little pockets of gems hidden beneath the surface.

I can make this style from as small as 2mm up to a maximum of 4mm, and I can use silver, 9 carat, or 18 carat gold. I can also use gold you’ve inherited, or a mix. The beauty of a truly handmade ring is that I have total control over your metal, it’s never sent away to a third party, so that means we can use it exactly as you want to.
