I am a queer jeweller, living and working in Norwich. I worked in science for a decade, before re-training as a goldsmith at the Birmingham School of Jewellery.

An eco-hippy at heart, I love to re-work people’s old jewellery into new pieces, and I love to repair jewellery. In my opinion, this is the truest form of recycling and the most sustainable path for any jeweller. I also have a particular interest in traditional methods that result in one-off hand-made bespoke pieces.

My work is inspired by nature: my love of surfing ~ the colours and power of the ocean; my love of mountain walking ~ the weather and wildness of the peaks. I think there is nothing more beautiful than the feeling of being alive in these places, and I try to catch a little of that in my work wherever I can.

My work is also inspired by my queerness, and the expressive beauty and endless individuality I see around me in my queer community. I have an interest in designing genderless jewellery suitable for folx of all types. Handmade, statement pieces, as comfortable at a gallery opening as they are on the dancefloor.

In my spare time I love to garden, read, and cook for friends, in the company of my spouse Jan, our baby Ellis, and our beautiful cat, Theo, who has been my constant companion for the last 17 years 💗

I’m also one of the Goldsmith's for my family shop, Oliver and J Jewellery, based over in Beccles. I can meet in Norwich, or in Beccles, whichever is easiest for you!
