Reed
One of my most favourite places in Suffolk is Dunwich, an ancient village, once the most thriving trade port in the country, but sadly now almost entirely eroded away by the sea ~ eight whole churches lie under the water. But as romantic as this history is, what I really love about Dunwich is the way the marshes and the sea come together. To the North of the beach, the rushes extend down almost all the way to the pebbles. You can walk among the rustling reeds and then emerge onto the pebbled beach with the ocean before you. I love this juxtaposition of the softly rustling rushes, which seem to absorb all outside sound, contrasting with the sudden salt and clarity of the ocean.

The rings shown are a 2.5mm band, and a 4mm band, both made from recycled silver. Both have been polished, I but I think they’d look nice with a matte surface too. With a matte surface you would see each individual "reed" much better, as the pattern will be more visible. With a polished surface as in these photos your eye is dazzled by the reflections of the light and you see the sparkle more!
I can make these rings in silver, 9 carat, or 18 carat yellow gold, rose gold or white gold. I can also use gold you've inherited, if you prefer. Or a mix! The beauty of a truly handmade ring is that I have total control over your metal, it's never sent away to a third party, so that means we can use it exactly as you want to.
